About the event
Over the past year I have completed two yoga philosophy courses and would love to share what I have learnt from these outstanding teachers with you all. As we all know Yoga is so much for than the physical, Yoga is a lifestyle.Â
"True yoga is not about the shape of your body, but the shape of your life. Yoga is not to be performed: yoga is to be lived. Yoga doesn't care about what you have been; yoga cares about the person you are becoming. Yoga is designed for a vast and profound purpose, and for it to be truly called yoga, its essence must be embodied." - Aadil Palkhivala
In this workshop we will delve deeper into the philosophy of Yoga and how it impacts our lives and practice. The first 30-45 mins we will be working through the 8 limbs of Yoga, focusing mainly on the Yamas (universal moral codes) and Niyamas (personal duties or observances) which just so happen to be the first and second limbs. Using this time to make notes, discuss opinions and how we can incorporate these ancient teaches to our modern lives. You will also be given a chance to reflect and journal on what Yoga has done for you so far and how it has impacted your life. Giving me a rare opportunity to share my journey with you all and what I have learnt along the way.Â
Â
We will then move our bodies (as we would have been sat still for sometime) doing a 30 minute full body flow and ending with a nice long meditation with only a few minutes being guided and 10 minutes of silence to really allow yourself to go deep within. There will be handouts for everyone on the 8 limbs of yoga and recommendations for books and documentaries. Please bring your own mat if you have one (let me know if you need one) and blanket for meditation. Blocks and eye pillows will be provided, along with yogi tea and delicious cake!
